The second step is the lmrallel, incremental surface realizatiou of utterances from the robot's t)erspecl;ive bascxl on the CR. Theoretical issues addressed are semantics of SAI)s and distribution of lexical and syntactic processing, leading to a natural type of in(:rementality in NLG.</Paragraph>
