The framework applies a multi-dimensional category for representing classes, in contrast with traditional flat and hierarchical category models.</Paragraph> <Paragraph position="1"> Classifying text documents based on a multi-dimensional category model can be performed using the multi-dimensional-based classification or the flat and hierarchical classifications. By experiments on two data sets and three algorithms, k-NN, naive Bayes and centroid-based methods, the results show that the multi-dimensional-based and hierarchical-based classifications outperform flat-based one.</Paragraph> </Section> class="xml-element"></Paper>
