The main advantage is that GATE is a framework and a graphical development environment which is suitable both for research and teaching, thus making it easier to connect the two, e.g., allow a student to carry out a final-year project which contributes to novel research, carried out by their lecturers. The development environment comes with a comprehensive set of tools, which cover the entire application development cycle. It can be used to provide students with hands-on experience in a wide variety of tasks. Universities willing to use GATE as a teaching tool will benefit from the comprehensive documentation, several tutorials, and online demonstrations.</Paragraph> </Section> class="xml-element"></Paper>
