    <Paragraph position="0"> The results reported here represent a first step in determining the degree to which automated clustering based on translation equivalents can be used to differentiate word senses. Our work so far indicates that the method is promising and could provide a significant means to automatically acquire sense-differentiated data in multiple languages. Our current results suggest that coarse-grained agreement is the best that can be expected from humans, and that our method is capable of duplicating sense differentiation at this level.</Paragraph>
