    <Paragraph position="0"> This paper has theoretically and empirically demonstrated that uncertainty reduction is the essence of collaborative bootstrapping, which includes both co-training and bilingual bootstrapping.</Paragraph>
    <Paragraph position="1"> The paper has conducted a new theoretical analysis of collaborative bootstrapping, and has proposed a new algorithm for collaborative bootstrapping, both on the basis of uncertainty reduction. Experimental results have verified the correctness of the analysis and have indicated that the new algorithm performs better than the existing algorithms.</Paragraph>
