<Paragraph position="0"> In this paper we describe the positive effect of One-sided Sampling of an imbalanced dataset for the first time on the linguistic task of automatically learning verb complements from Greek text corpora. Unlike traditional One-sided Sampling, we employ the VDM metric and show that it is more appropriate for nominal features. We experiment with various learning algorithms to classify new examples and reach a precision and a recall value of 77.5% and 70.3% respectively, having used only a chunker for preprocessing.</Paragraph>
