From the viewpoint of computational linguistics, we have demonstrated the effectiveness of a knowledge-rich approach to QA based on matching questions with answers at the semantic level. From the viewpoint of medical informatics, we have shown how principles of evidence-based medicine can be operationalized in a system to support physicians.
