    <Paragraph position="0"> In conclusion, we have presented an account of the syntax and semantics of anaphoric expressions that covers basic binding as well as raising, ECM, and extraction data. Our analysis employs a multicomponent lexical entry whose first component corresponds to the anaphor's binder, thus establishing a local relationship between antecedent and anaphor. A structural constraint that links the two components accounts for the basic asymmetry that is observed in the binding of reflexives and reciprocals in English.</Paragraph>
