A minor change in the feature geometry of signs was sufficient to cope with the spurious ambiguity problem of Pollard's (To appear) account. The account, argued for in this paper can describe the fronting phenomena without the assumption of an infinite lexicon. A solution for the problem of underspecified COMPS lists was found.</Paragraph> <Paragraph position="1"> This solution makes use of a schema to introduce the nonlocal dependency. An introduced nonlocal dependency is licensed by an actually present, element in the syntax analysis of a string.
