7 Conclusions

    <Paragraph position="0"> We have developed the system which identifies coreferences between the human face in the image and the human name in the text by selecting combinations of hypotheses and the combining of the results from the language module and the image module. The experimental result is that recall is 42% to 76% and precision is 69% to 74%. This result indicates that the practical use of semi-automatic extraction of common per-son from multimedia contents for IR purposes would come into our sight with some technical improvement along this line of research strategy.</Paragraph>
