The free text responses we are dealing with are answers ranging from a few words up to 5 lines. These answers are for factual science questions that typically ask candidates to state, describe, suggest, explain, etc. and where there is an objective criterion for right and wrong. These questions are from an exam known as GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education): most 16</Paragraph>
